Baja California
Los Cucapá eran una tribu de pescadores ancestrales de Baja California. Cucapá significa "gente de agua”. El hombre vestía con un taparrabo y pintaba y tatuaba su cuerpo. La mujer una falda de corteza de sauce, se adornaba con tatuajes y conchas que colgaban desde el cuello hasta sus pechos.
La transición de la vestimenta inició a finales del siglo XIX e inicios del XX con la intensificación del comercio en el Río Colorado los Cucapah adoptaron patrones de la cultura occidental, la mujer incorporó el algodón en su vestido y el hombre el pantalón de mezclilla y un paliacate alrededor del cuello.

The Cucapa´s were a tribe of ancient fishermen of Baja California. Cucapah means "water people". The man wore a loincloth and painted and tattooed his body. The woman was wearing a skirt willow bark and decked with tattoos and shells that hung from her neck to her breasts.
The transition of clothing started in the late nineteenth and early twentieth with the intensification of trade in the Colorado River's the Cucapa´s adopted patterns of western culture, the woman incorporated the cotton in her dress, the man dessed jeans and bandanna around his neck.
